OAC WINS A NATIONAL AWARD
2024 National ESEA Distinguished School Honor
Overbrook Attendance Center has been nationally recognized as a distinguished school by The National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program for its outstanding achievement in closing the academic achievement gap. The ESEA recognition celebrates schools that have made significant strides in ensuring equitable education and fostering an environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Over the past two years, Overbrook Attendance Center has prioritized building goals to boost student academic achievement. In kindergarten, first, and second grades, they establish a strong foundation essential for future success on state assessments as well as individual student growth in math and reading. Staff approach education with urgency, holding data meetings, applying high-impact instructional strategies, and celebrating student growth in all classrooms. In third grade, these pillars remain vital while test-taking strategies, standards alignment and interim data analysis become more central. The third grade team carefully reviews this data and aligns their lessons with standards, targeting instruction to address specific areas of need and maximizing student achievement.
Thank you staff at Overbrook Attendance Center for Inspiring and Empowering Every Charger, Every Day!
