I understand and acknowledge the following:
- The USD434 Santa Fe Trail BOE-approved nonresident policy can be found HERE and our Enrollment Projection & Nonresident Enrollment Report can be found HERE.
- If the number of applications for a grade level in a school building referenced above is greater than the number of available seats for the grade level in the school building, district administration shall accept students based on priority enrollment status first.
- If capacity remains after accepting priority enrollment students, the administration will randomly select nonresident student applicants for enrollment using a confidential lottery process that will be completed on or before July 15 of each year.
- The district, by virtue of being a receiving school district of a nonresident student, shall not be required to provide transportation to nonresident students unless otherwise required to do so by state and/or federal law.
- If admitted to attend school in the district, the above-named nonresident student shall not be exempt from the requirements of the Kansas State High School Activities Association (“KSHSAA”) regarding eligibility to participate in KSHSAA activities.
- Parents or guardians of the nonresident students selected for enrollment, including siblings, must acknowledge receipt of acceptance and student placement within 5 business days from the notification or the nonresident enrollment may be denied.
- Providing false information on this application will result in disqualification from nonresident enrollment eligibility.
- The nonresident student must not currently be under expulsion or long-term suspension from their current school district.
- When applicable, a new Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will be developed upon enrollment.
- If the nonresident student named above is not accepted for or denied enrollment at such school district, the district will provide to the parent or person acting as a parent of the nonresident student the reason for the nonacceptance or denial and an explanation of the nonresident student selection process.
- Students not selected for nonresident enrollment through the lottery selection process or due to a lack of capacity must reapply each year in which they wish to be considered for nonresident enrollment.
