Mr. Stanton graduated from Emporia State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Industrial Arts Education. He received his first job from Jefferson West High School, teaching Industrial Education, coaching football and taking the head track coach position. In 1990, he graduated from Washburn University with a Master’s degree in School Administration with a K-12 certification. Mr. Stanton was hired to be the Middle School Principal at Jefferson West. After 15 years at Jefferson West, he moved to El Dorado to be the Middle School Principal and Supervise the Behavior Disability classroom for the Cooperative, which was at El Dorado Middle School. Mr. Stanton moved back to the Topeka area in 2001 taking the Industrial Education job at Santa Fe Trail High School. He taught for Santa Fe Trail High School three years then left to become self-employed building houses and doing excavation work. When the housing market slowed down, he applied for the Industrial Education position in 2007 and has been teaching at SFTHS since that date. He indicates that he really likes working with the students at Santa Fe Trail High School. Other than being a teacher, he also owns the Copper Oven Bakery in Topeka.
